Before Your Tan

  • Shave, wax, or exfoliate 12+ hours before your appointment. This allows pores to close and ensures an even application.
  • Get manicures or pedicures the day before. Acetone, scrubs, and handwashing can remove your tan—complete these prior to your session.
  • Shower and exfoliate 6–12 hours before your tan. Use an exfoliating cloth or loofah to remove dry, dead skin.
  • Arrive with clean, product-free skin. Avoid makeup, deodorant, perfume, oils, or lotions. These can block the solution from adhering properly.
  • If your skin is very dry: A very light layer of moisturizer on the face or dry areas (knees, elbows, ankles) is okay.

After Your Tan

  • Stay dry for at least 7 hours. No showering, sweating, or moisturizing during this period.
  • For your first rinse, use lukewarm water only. Avoid loofahs, exfoliants, or shaving. Rinse until the water runs clear, then pat (don’t rub) dry.
  • Apply an oil-free moisturizer after your first rinse. Continue moisturizing daily (morning + night) to extend your tan.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs. Heat and steam can cause faster fading.
  • Avoid active skincare ingredients. Retinol, AHAs/BHAs, benzoyl peroxide, and similar actives will break down your tan quickly.

How Long Does a Spray Tan Last?

A spray tan typically lasts 5–7 days, depending on your skin type, aftercare, and lifestyle. Moisturizing daily and avoiding exfoliation will help it last longer.

Spray tans are designed to look natural and can last from a few days to a week, depending on factors like skin type and aftercare.

How Often Can I Spray Tan?

You can safely spray tan once a week or as needed. Since spray tanning doesn’t involve UV exposure, it’s a great way to maintain a natural-looking glow year-round.

How Do I Remove a Spray Tan?

To remove a spray tan, gently exfoliate with a body scrub or exfoliating mitt and use warm water. Moisturizing regularly also helps the tan fade evenly over time.
